An abnormally quiet shutdown day

This is an exceedingly bizarre shutdown day.

The Capitol is quiet. Speaker Mike Johnson has been in his office holding meetings this morning, including his weekly catch-up with Senate Majority Leader John Thune. House Republicans are gone, and the chamber is closed except for a brief pro forma session.
