GOP splits on need for Venezuela oversight

Not all Republicans are sold on the need for bipartisan oversight of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and President Donald Trump’s actions against alleged drug boats in the Caribbean.

“I don’t think there needs to be oversight,” Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), an Armed Services Committee member, said. “The president, Secretary Hegseth, their job is to protect our people, so I’m for killing every dang one of them.”
