Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, ending a year-long search for the man responsible for the worst terror attack in Israeli history.
Images of a body resembling Sinwar’s and covered in rubble were circulating on social media Thursday morning. The Israeli government has now confirmed the death. Here’s the statement from the Israelis.
