Hello from Washington, D.C., where we’ll be monitoring Election Day results from Punchbowl News World Headquarters, just a short distance from the U.S. Capitol.

We’re going to focus on the battle for control of the House right now. But before we begin, a disclaimer: This has been an unpredictable election cycle. Polls have gotten things wrong before in the House. Remember what happened in 2020 and 2022. But most people we talk to say they’d rather be Democrats than Republicans today.
