A pretty good data day in retail, jobless numbers

The Biden economy notched a solid batch of government data this morning, with retail spending recovering from January and unemployment claims below expectations.

January featured a sharper-than-expected slowdown in retail spending, giving some economy watchers pause. There are still some trouble spots, but February’s monthly figures will alleviate some heartache.
