First in Punchbowl News: A bicameral group of Republican lawmakers is encouraging the Securities and Exchange Commission to continue paring back a key market monitoring system.
In a letter led by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and backed by both Republican financial policy committee chairs, lawmakers ask the SEC to “reconsider its position” on litigation challenging aspects of the Consolidated Audit Trail, a regulatory system that has been in development for nearly a decade and a half.
