Another IRS nominee bites the dust

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social this afternoon that he would withdraw the nomination of Donald Korb to serve as chief counsel of the Internal Revenue Service and assistant general counsel at the Treasury Department.

Trump’s post comes two days after the far-right activist Laura Loomer attacked Korb on X, claiming Korb “has several major red flags that disqualify him from assuming his role under the Trump administration.”

Korb’s confirmation would have made him the most senior IRS official confirmed to their role since the August departure of Billy Long as the agency’s commissioner.
