MilCon-VA spending bill passes in nearly party-line vote

The House has passed the first of the FY2025 spending bills, clearing the massive $379 billion MilCon-VA package by a 209-197 margin.

But the vote was virtually along party lines, signaling once again that last year’s spending wars have spilled into this year, even with a new chair atop the House Appropriations Committee. We spelled out this dynamic for you in today’s AM edition.
