Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson said today he’s trying to navigate between challenging a number of mergers, especially by Big Tech, with a desire to guard against transactions that add to mega-firms’ economic power.
“I don’t want antitrust wedded to either pole,” Ferguson told Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan during a conference hosted by the startup accelerator. The chair said one pole “is categorical, hardcore opposition to M&A activity, which hurts innovation.”
