Senate Dems ‘yes’ votes justify their position on funding deal

The eight Senate Democrats who voted to end the shutdown this week are taking great pains to explain their votes to an incensed party base.

Instead of trying to avoid the spotlight and hunker down, this group of moderate Senate Democrats is trying to get their message out as to why they supported the GOP proposal to reopen the government and end the 43-day shutdown, the longest in U.S. history.
