Senate leaders are considering adding congressional staffers to a bill to pay certain federal workers and the military during the shutdown, according to multiple sources.

The legislation, which the Senate is expected to vote on next week, would provide funding to pay “excepted” federal workers — those employees who have been forced to work without pay during the shutdown.
