Senate Democrats will block a massive funding package after a second deadly ICE shooting in Minneapolis, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced Saturday.
The second government shutdown of this Congress now looks increasingly likely. Funding for the vast majority of the federal government expires on Friday, raising the specter of a shutdown for key departments, including the Pentagon and the departments of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, Interior and others.
The Senate is scheduled to return to session on Monday, with votes set for Tuesday due to a massive snowstorm expected to batter the East Coast.
