Flyers will continue to have their faces scanned at the airport after a controversial bill was pulled from a Senate Commerce Committee markup at the last minute.
The bill would restrict facial recognition technology at TSA checkpoints. The panel’s chair, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), told us senators had “additional questions,” and the bill wasn’t ready to be considered this morning.
This is a win for the travel industry, which we reported yesterday was trying to tank the measure, citing concerns over safety and unnecessary delays.
