GOP effort looks to override FTC’s click-to-cancel rule

Two Republicans are gathering support for their effort to have Congress override a Federal Trade Commission rule that makes it easier to cancel online subscriptions.

In “Dear Colleague” letters obtained by Punchbowl News, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Laurel Lee (R-Fla.) said they want to “act swiftly” on the so-called negative-option rule through a Congressional Review Act resolution, given the rule’s compliance date of May 15.
