Lutnick nomination advances to floor

Howard Lutnick’s nomination for commerce secretary is on its way to the Senate floor after it was approved by the Senate Commerce Committee this morning.

The panel advanced Lutnick’s nomination with the support of all Republicans and Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.). The committee also approved bills to keep kids off social media and require automakers to keep AM radio available in all vehicles for no extra cost. A discussion over Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency’s access to the federal payments system was also part of today’s playbill.
