It’s day 33 of the government shutdown. Open enrollment for Obamacare plans opened Saturday, the political pain point that Democrats have been eyeing to force Republicans to the table.
But the GOP isn’t budging, and now President Donald Trump is calling on the Senate to get rid of the filibuster. The odds of a deal on enhanced Obamacare subsidies appear low, and an extension at this point wouldn’t be as impactful. Marketplace enrollees are already making decisions about their 2026 health care coverage.
