Recess is almost over. Get ready for next week.

The House and Senate will be back next week after this glorious recess. There will be a lot for Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune to consider: How the speaker wants to handle any effort to impeach U.S. District Judge James Boasberg; the effective shuttering of the Department of Education (as discussed above); President Donald Trump’s efforts to change the combatant command of the U.S. military; and the giant reconciliation package that the GOP is trying to cobble together.

One note: The House has canceled votes for Wednesday so members can attend the funeral for the late Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), who passed away on March 13 from lung cancer. Some legislative action may be pushed due to that.
