Job Summary: Punchbowl News is hiring a junior Congressional Reporter to join our editorial team and cover the House. This reporter will work closely with our team of veteran reporters to break news and collaborate on items.
The best candidate for this job will be well-sourced on Capitol Hill and thrive in a startup-oriented Washington newsroom. Most importantly, this person should have a proven track record of breaking news and driving the conversation in the Capitol.
The Punchbowl News Congressional Reporter will work closely with the entire editorial team to own coverage of the power, people and politics on Capitol Hill. This includes the 2026 fight for the House, intra-caucus battles between leadership and rank-and-file, and House Republican leadership efforts to maintain control of the floor with one of the narrowest margins in history.
There are great stories to be told on this beat and we want aggressive and balanced reporters to write them for Punchbowl News.
Key Responsibilities:
- Filing several dispatches each week for our flagship newsletters: Punchbowl News AM, Midday and PM
- Breaking news on the House beat daily
- Hosting or participating in live newsmaker events, Fly Out Day and our podcasts
- Representing Punchbowl News on television, radio and other promotional activities
Qualifications:
- At least two years of reporting experience on Capitol Hill
- Strong familiarity with the political dynamics in both the House and broader Washington
- Quickly adapts to fast-paced, ever-changing political environment
- A record of breaking news and driving the news conversation
- Ability to write clean, concise copy on deadline
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary for this role is in the range of $75,000 – $85,000. Final compensation will be based on scope, work experience, and relevant skills.

In its fifth year, Punchbowl News is one of the fastest-growing and most successful media companies in the country. This role is about extending that position, growing the audience, sharpening how the brand shows up, and building on an events business that is already one of the most respected in the market.
This role sits at the intersection of audience, events, and video content. It brings those pieces together into a coordinated growth engine that drives engagement, revenue, and influence.
The Vice President will oversee audience development, live programming, marketing, and emerging video initiatives ensuring that Punchbowl News’ journalism, experiences, and partnerships are aligned and built to scale.
This is a senior operating role reporting directly into the CEO. The right candidate will set direction, make decisions, and work directly with teams to execute.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Growth Engine
- Own how Punchbowl News grows across audience, events, marketing, and video
- Connect existing strengths into a more coordinated and scalable system
- Drive measurable gains in audience growth, engagement, and conversion
Expand the Audience
- Partner with marketing to grow Punchbowl News’ reach across newsletters, social, and video
- Turn audience engagement into long-term relationships and repeat users
- Ensure audience strategy is connected across content, events, and distribution
Scale Events & Experiences
- Set the direction for Punchbowl News’ events portfolio and live programming
- Maintain a high bar for quality, consistency, and experience
- Identify where to expand, where to refine, and where to push into new formats
- Work closely with Sales and Events to maximize both audience impact and revenue
Build Video & New Formats
- Define how video fits into Punchbowl News’ broader strategy
- Work with editorial and production teams to develop formats that travel across platforms
- Align video with audience growth and sponsorship opportunities
Strengthen the Brand
- Ensure Punchbowl News shows up with clarity and consistency across every touchpoint
- Lead marketing efforts tied to major initiatives, events, and programming
- Elevate the visibility of Punchbowl News’ journalists and content through smart partnerships and placements
Operate Across the Company
- Work directly with Editorial, Marketing, Events, and Sales leadership
- Bring clarity to decisions and momentum to execution

Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of experience in live programming, event management, and/or marketing, preferably within a media or entertainment company.
- Experience working closely with editorial teams and content creators.
- Strong leadership experience with cross-functional and creative teams.
- Comfortable representing the company publicly with partners, talent, and industry leaders.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and revenue orientation.

Job Summary: Punchbowl News is looking for a Business Development Associate to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the growth of subscription-based revenue streams, with a strong focus on opportunity generation.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential to this role, as the Associate will interact directly with potential subscribers on a daily basis to initiate evaluations of Punchbowl News’ subscriptions services.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and research potential customers to uncover insights that drive effective and personalized outreach.
- Build relationships with prospective customers through inbound responses and proactive outbound efforts, including cold calls and emails.
- Secure meetings with key decision-makers by delivering tailored, compelling messaging across multiple channels.
- Support Subscription Sales Team in providing an exceptional end-to-end customer experience during evaluations.
- Accurately document all customer interactions in HubSpot in a timely manner and keep internal stakeholders informed of relevant updates and progress.
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Events, and Product teams as necessary to support broader company initiatives and ensure a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in an outbound sales associate role.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Prior experience in news media or information subscription services is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
- A strong interest in news, politics, or public policy is a major plus — empathy for users and curiosity about the inner workings of Washington are essential.
Compensation & Benefits
The On Target Earnings range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the role’s scope, as well as the candidate’s experience and relevant skills.
