Rep. Jim Jordan walks down the hallway

Jordan inches toward the speakership

Jim Jordan has some serious momentum in his quest to win the House speakership. It’s not a done deal yet – emphasis on yet – but the Ohio Republican got three big nods this morning that could help him move toward 217 yes votes on the House floor.

Three notable GOP holdouts – Armed Services Committee Chair Mike Rogers of Alabama, Rep. Ken Calvert of California and Missouri Rep. Ann Wagner – flipped and will now support Jordan’s candidacy in a floor vote Tuesday.
