Cruz looks to parliamentarian on AI

Senate Commerce Committee Chair Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is likely to plead his case to the Senate parliamentarian this week for including language in the reconciliation bill that would require states to not regulate artificial intelligence if they want federal broadband funds.

Cruz is eager to advance the provision, but it faces opposition from several of Cruz’s GOP colleagues and may fail to comply with Senate rules.
