One key appropriations bill hung up in Senate

We have some updates for you on two of the most controversial funding bills set to be considered in the Senate Appropriations Committee.

The panel’s chair, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), had said earlier this week that the panel was on track to mark up two of its most politically sensitive bills: the FY2026 Department of Homeland Security measure and the State, Foreign Operations and Related Agencies package.

Now, SFOPs, as it’s known, likely won’t be ready for next week. Negotiations over the Homeland bill are still ongoing, although the measure could still get marked up as soon as next week.
