News: Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Monday that any stopgap funding bill to avert an Oct. 1 government shutdown should be “as clean as possible” so as not to compromise the chances of a bipartisan FY2026 appropriations deal.
Thune also urged the White House to “minimize” its anomaly requests in any CR. Anomalies are special provisions in a CR.
