YouTube owner Alphabet said the Biden administration “pressed” the company to remove content that didn’t violate community guidelines during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the company said senior Biden White House officials and the former president “created a political atmosphere that sought to influence the actions of platforms based on their concerns regarding misinformation.”
Alphabet added it will allow the return of certain YouTube creators banned from the platform while discussing the pandemic or talking about “fraud, errors, or glitches occurring in the 2020 and other past U.S. Presidential elections.”
