A leading China hawk is boosting revisions to a measure that would limit the export of advanced artificial intelligence chips.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), a key backer of Sen. Jim Banks’ (R-Ind.) original proposal, is now giving a thumbs-up to a new draft we first told you about Wednesday.

 

Here’s a statement from Cotton spokesperson Patrick McCann on the measure to give American chips buyers first dibs over firms in certain adversarial countries:
