The Senate Commerce Committee’s hearing Wednesday on online ticket sales will serve as an opportunity for lawmakers to build momentum for a fee-transparency bill that narrowly missed the chance to become law in late 2024.
The bill has broad bipartisan support but is still in search of a vehicle it can ride through Congress and onto the president’s desk.
“There’s an opportunity now” to pass the TICKET Act, said Brian Berry, executive director of the Ticket Policy Forum and one of the witnesses scheduled for the hearing. The panel is also due to hear from Kid Rock, as well as an executive from Live Nation.
