Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth delivered a clear message to big defense contractors: President Donald Trump is “deadly serious” about overhauling their industry.
Speaking at a Blue Origin facility in Port Canaveral, Fla., alongside Jeff Bezos, who owns the space technology company, Hegseth said the Trump administration wants to “make space great again” and “dominate the space domain” by mandating all companies — upstarts and primes, alike — deliver defense equipment at speed and scale for the military.
“No more excuses, no more barriers to entry, no more monopolies,” Hegseth said. “The companies we invest in need to prioritize the warfighter.”
