Now onto DHS. It’s a rough day for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Following our scoop this morning that President Donald Trump has been calling Hill Republicans about firing Noem, Republican senators and media outlets confirmed the report and added some new information of their own.

NRO reported that Trump has considered tapping Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) as Noem’s successor. Nominating Mullin would ensure Senate GOP support, and Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) — while not a Trump favorite — would pick a Republican to succeed Mullin in the Senate.
