Some California residents and outside groups are upping the pressure on Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) to lock in his latest bipartisan bill on artificial intelligence so it doesn’t get snagged in House GOP efforts to preempt state AI policies.

Lieu’s bill doesn’t preempt states.

The pressure campaign, which includes a Friday letter signed by nearly 100 young adults in the Golden State, is part of an ongoing effort by tech skeptics and liberal groups to keep Democrats from conceding AI ground to the GOP.
