Rachel Witkowski

Rachel Witkowski is Congress editor at Punchbowl News. Her journalism career spans more than 20 years, primarily covering finance, technology and politics in Washington, DC. During her tenure as editor, Ms. Witkowski oversaw the business and technology groups at Semafor and helped launch several consumer finance verticals at Forbes Advisor. She has written for publications including The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, American Banker, Financial Planning and Yahoo Finance.

Ms. Witkowski has won a handful of journalism awards, including for investigations on immigration and the 2008 banking crisis in Florida. Her investigative series on employee discrimination at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau led to congressional hearings and $5 million in compensation to affected government employees. She was also among the “40 Under 40” recognized by the Women in Housing & Finance Inc.
