Senate moves ahead on reconciliation

Senate Republicans cleared the first procedural hurdle on their reconciliation bill funding ICE and Border Patrol on Wednesday, with all 53 GOP senators voting to kick off the floor process.

But in a last-minute twist, the vote-a-rama won’t begin until Thursday morning. Democrats are refusing to yield back enough debate time, preferring to force politically uncomfortable votes for vulnerable Republicans during daylight hours.
