Senate appropriators prep security funding bill that mirrors Biden’s request

The Senate’s top appropriators are already crafting legislation based on President Joe Biden’s national-security supplemental funding request, even as House Republicans press forward with a $14 billion Israel-only bill.

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Patty Murray’s (D-Wash.) announcement, which came during a hearing with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, is another sign that the House and Senate are on a collision course over whether to fund Israel and Ukraine in one package.
