Tariff question haunts GOP reconciliation debate

House Ways and Means Committee Republicans had their first post-election meeting yesterday to walk through what they want to do with their big shot at a tax bill next year.

There were multiple questions about tariffs during the meeting, according to people familiar with the discussion. It’s a sign of the concern and member awareness about the possibility of Republicans trying to legislate tariffs as part of their reconciliation package next year.
