A top Trump administration intelligence official has resigned over the United States’ campaign against Iran, arguing it was unjustified.
Joe Kent, a top lieutenant to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, said in his resignation letter Tuesday morning that “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran.”
“Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby,” Kent wrote, undercutting arguments from senior Trump officials.
