Audit watchdog leaps into fight for its survival

News: The chair of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board warned House Republicans that their push to absorb the agency into the Securities and Exchange Commission would pose “significant risk to investors.”

The statement from PCAOB Chair Erica Williams is the first public remark from the auditing regulator since Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee released their plan to effectively eliminate the agency via reconciliation.
