CFPB asks industry to snitch on agency employees

The acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau encouraged the financial services industry to report on any agency employees who may be violating a stop work order introduced earlier this week.

A “tipline” is now open for anyone “being pursued” by the CFPB’s staff, according to the description of a Twitter account we spotted this afternoon. Acting CFPB Director Russ Vought confirmed the account’s function in a post on X.
