Speaker Mike Johnson wants to put a short-term government funding bill on the House floor this week. House Republican leaders also want to give members 72 hours to review the bill before a vote.
House Republican leaders, however, aren’t entirely convinced that the CR text will come out today. They’re still trying to resolve several issues, including how to handle the overwhelming desire to increase security for members in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder and the politically-motivated shootings of Minnesota Democratic state lawmakers in June.
