Breaking: The Senate Banking Committee will hold a nomination hearing on July 11 for four key financial positions, the panel announced Thursday evening.

The lineup will include CFTC Commissioner Christy Goldsmith Romero to chair the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. board as well as Commissioner Kristin Johnson to be the Treasury Department’s assistant secretary for financial institutions.

Meanwhile in tax: The IRS needs a little help. It’s hoping Congress can come through, but that’s going to be tricky.
