It’s a new day at the Fed, even if Powell won’t ‘declare victory’ yet

The Federal Open Market Committee announced this afternoon it would continue to hold rates steady, leaving the federal funds rate between 5.25% and 5.5%. Markets roared on the news, with the S&P 500 climbing by more than a percentage point in the hour or so after the release.
