The GENIUS Act advanced on a 68-30 cloture vote this afternoon. A group of 18 Democrats joined Republicans to advance the measure.
We view this as the clearest bellwether vote so far for stablecoin reform’s trajectory through the Senate. The cloture vote was on an amendment in the nature of a substitute from Sens. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), which represents the final version of the bill.
