George Helmy is excited about the banking stuff

Sen. George Helmy (D-N.J.) is the Senate Banking Committee’s newest member, and he’s “looking forward” to getting to work on the panel led by Chair Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).

We interviewed Helmy this week after we spotted him for the first time as he headed into the Senate chamber. The New Jersey Democrat had been an official member of the committee for a matter of hours, but he was nice enough to talk about bank policy with us.
