House allies vow to press Senate on disaster relief

The House-passed disaster tax relief bill is in for a dose of Senate reality.

Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) is blocking the legislation as he tries to force action on a broader tax package he wrote with House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.). House members who led the disaster bill are vowing to lobby Wyden and other senators to get it done as a standalone measure.
