Republicans take a victory lap on SEC climate rule

Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee flocked to Tennessee this morning for a field hearing that took aim at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s climate disclosure rule.

The SEC finalized that rule in early March, and it was significantly weakened from the version that was proposed back in 2022. Republicans today were happy to take credit for that change.
