House Republicans unload on SEC enforcement head

First in The Vault: Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee led by Reps. French Hill (R-Ark.) and Bill Huizenga (R-Mich.) accused a top official at the Securities and Exchange Commission of dedicating “disproportionate” resources to litigating the crypto industry.

In a letter this week to Gurbir Grewal, the SEC’s division of enforcement director, Hill and Huizenga accused the agency of being “more occupied with making a political stunt than providing regulatory clarity.”
