Bankers sit down for ‘frank’ talk with Senate GOP

A handful of CEOs representing some of the largest U.S. banks met with Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and other panel Republicans this morning. The topic, as we reported earlier this week, was “debanking” and other regulatory affairs.

Lawmakers were tight-lipped coming out of the meeting. One person present described the conversation as “constructive.” Sens. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and John Kennedy (R-La.) said it was “frank.” We also caught up with Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, before he went into the meeting on the first floor of the Senate.
