Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen had a newsy conversation onstage with The Atlantic’s Ron Brownstein this morning.

Yellen told an audience that the U.S. economy appears to be on solid footing and that extending all of the Trump tax cuts was “something the United States can't afford.”

Yellen didn’t touch on former President Donald Trump, but his economic policies were hard to avoid.
