A look at lobbying on China tariffs

Tariffs have been a focal point this election cycle thanks to Donald Trump’s frequent focus on making foreign products more expensive. Democrats have happily turned that into a talking point about how tariffs could hit middle and lower-income voters hard by raising the price of everyday goods.

But one thing that both parties have liked lately? Tariffs that target China. Democrats have tried to neutralize any advantage from Trump’s protectionist trade rhetoric. The Biden administration increased Trump-era tariffs on some imports from China earlier this year. As a result of all this, we’re seeing some more lobbying hires focused on just this topic.
