Waters renews housing push at DNC

The senior Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee has centered housing reforms in her work as a lawmaker for years.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) didn’t get the policy she wanted in the Biden administration’s legislative proposal that ultimately became the Inflation Reduction Act. But the California lawmaker has already had success in elevating housing reforms to the center of the Harris-Walz campaign, a push that will continue this afternoon at a DNC event.
