McConnell: CR ‘obviously’ will be needed

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Congress will need to pass a stopgap spending bill before the first of two government funding deadlines on Jan. 19, putting additional pressure on Speaker Mike Johnson to formally accept a CR.
