A group of Senate Democrats are pressing Congress’ nonpartisan tax experts for more data on the wealthiest Americans.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) sent a letter to the Joint Committee on Taxation, obtained first by Punchbowl News, seeking the information. It’s the latest move by Democrats to try to put Republicans in a tough spot over tax cuts that benefit the rich, an effort that’s bearing some fruit.
