The Treasury Department announced a new battery of sanctions targeting a “key leader” of the “Lopez Human Smuggling Organization,” a group previously targeted by the Biden administration starting in 2023.
The sanctions today specifically target Jumilca Sandivel Hernandez Perez, who Treasury says is a “Mexico-based” leader for a Guatemala-based smuggling operation.
